Corporation Bank IFSC Codes


The Corporation Bank was first called as Canara Banking Corporation (Udipi) Ltd. on 12th March 1906. It later became Corporation Bank. The main objective of this bank is to fulfill the long felt-banking needs of the people and also to infuse the saving habit of the people.

IFSC stands for Indian Financial System Codes. An IFSC is an 11-digit alpha numeric code that is developed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The main aim of the IFSC Codes is to identify the bank and the branch in which the account is held. The IFSC Codes are mainly found in the cheque books. The IFSC Codes are also used for different electronic payment applications such as:

  • Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS)

  • National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT)

  • Immediate Payment Service (IPM)

  • A bank to bank electronic Instant Mobile Money Transfer Service (IMPS)

  • Centralized Fund Management System (CFMS)

In an IFSC Code, the first four characters represent the bank name. The first four characters of Corporation Bank is “CORP”. The fifth character is always set to default 0. This value is kept for future reference and the last characters represent the branch address i.e, 001382.

Example: The IFSC Code of Corporation Bank, Delhi Green Park is CORP0001382.
